Senegal 2027

Senegal – tour description

Back to the tour

Senegal is a real motorcycle expedition for those who want to experience Africa to the fullest. Long stretches, endless beaches, desert, savannas, baobabs and technical off-road sections await you.

This is not a race or an organized holiday. We ride at a relaxed pace, help each other and adapt the route to current conditions and the participants' experience. Two guides accompany you the whole time, one of whom is also an experienced mechanic.

Daily stages can be demanding and conditions sometimes harsh: heat, wind, sand and improvisation are all part of the journey. The reward is experiences that money can't buy: riding along an endless beach, a night under the stars and authentic Africa away from the tourist routes.

This is not a holiday for everyone. It's a real expedition you'll remember for a long time.

Where we'll ride

The route is a mix of fast transfers, iconic places and real adventure.

  1. 01

Málaga → Tanger Med → fast transfer south

After landing in Málaga we hop on the bikes and ride under our own power to the port. A ferry takes us across the Strait of Gibraltar and we step onto African soil. We continue through Morocco at a brisk pace heading south.

  2. 02

Plage Blanche: sand arches on the Atlantic coast

On the Atlantic coast south of Guelmim, legendary sand arches and the wild landscape of the Plage Blanche area await us. Riding along the coast, the ocean, the wind and a night right on the beach: the first truly powerful experience of the whole expedition.

  3. 03

Mauritania: Nouadhibou and the crossing to Nouakchott

After crossing the Mauritanian border we reach Nouadhibou. From there we have a mostly paved ride south towards Nouakchott, spiced up with short off-road sections and a first taste of the Saharan landscape.

  4. 04

Nouakchott & Trai Beach: the start of the real expedition

South of Nouakchott begins one of the most legendary sections of the whole trip: roughly 100 km along an endless beach toward the Senegal border. We'll have the Atlantic on our right, hard sand under our wheels and one of the most powerful experiences of the expedition ahead of us. This was once the only way to Senegal, back when there was no paved road yet.

  5. 05

    Saint-Louis and the Pink Lake

After entering Senegal we visit the historic city of Saint-Louis and the famous Lac Rose (Pink Lake). Dakar is only an optional stop, depending on time, mood and the current situation.

  6. 06

Off-road through the savanna and among baobabs

We leave the coast and head inland. Dusty tracks, villages, savannas, herds of cattle and majestic baobabs await us: the real Africa off the tourist trails.

  7. 07

    Destination: Kédougou

Our destination is southeastern Senegal. Kédougou offers red roads, green hills, wild nature and an authentic atmosphere you won't experience anywhere else.
